Reports to: Economic Development & Main Street Centerville Director
Employment Type: Part-Time (flexible hours, with evenings and weekends required for events)
Position Overview:
This part-time role is responsible for planning and executing events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that enhance downtown Centerville’s vibrancy. The individual in this position will coordinate with businesses, volunteers, and community partners to drive engagement in the Main Street District.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Planning & Execution:
◦ Plan, promote, and manage Main Street Centerville events such as Shop 2nd Saturday, holiday promotions, and Bike Night.
◦ Coordinate logistics, vendor participation, sponsorships, and volunteer recruitment.
◦ Oversee event setup, day-of coordination, and post-event follow-up.
◦ Develop creative event themes, marketing campaigns, and engagement strategies.
• Marketing & Promotions:
◦ Create and schedule social media content highlighting downtown businesses, events, and promotions.
◦ Collaborate with businesses to enhance their participation in Main Street programs.
◦ Assist in the creation of marketing materials, advertisements, and email campaigns.
• Volunteer Coordination & Community Engagement:
◦ Recruit and manage volunteers for Main Street events and promotions.
◦ Work closely with downtown business owners to increase participation in events.
◦ Facilitate committee meetings and provide support for Promotion-focused initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience in event planning, marketing, or community engagement.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for downtown revitalization.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, Canva, and digital marketing tools.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
